Heavenly sword and dragon sabre 2009

Title: 倚天屠龙记 / Yi Tian Tu Long Ji
Also known as:
Genre: Wuxia

synopsis, story and preview :

Based on the popular novel by Jin Yong Kam Yung. He also wrote Legend of the Condor Heroes and Return of the Condor Heroes. The takes place during 14th Century China during the Mongolian Yuan Dynasty, roughly 100 years after the events of Return of the Condor Heroes. After decades of struggles, famine, and bitterness which the Chinese citizens blamed on the Yuan Dynasty’s misgovernment, the Martial Arts sects have begun to rebel. Prince Ruyong asks Cheng Kun, a Shaolin monk with an ulterior motive, for a plan on how to deal with the rebels.

“The wielder of Heavenly Sword and/or Dragon Sabre rules the world.”

This well known legend in the Martial Arts community is the impetus for the tale of Zhang Wuji. The story begins with how his parents met (episodes 1-3), then tells his trials as an adolescent (episodes 4-8), proceeds to relate his rise to prominence (episodes 9-23) and reveals the secret behind (episode 23), and ends with the confluence of Wuji’s love life, the Martial Arts sects’ long standing grudges, and cruel fate.

Other Source :

Director/producer Zhang Jizhong has recently made a trip to Mt Wudang and announced that filming for Heavenly Sword Dragon Sabre will most likely commence in September this year. This will be his 7th and final Jinyong adaptation. The script is still in works at the moment and the cast has not been finalized yet.

With regards to the protagonist Zhang Wuji, Zhang Jizhong mentions that the character is the one most difficult to find an actor for though he thinks the most suitable candidate for the character is actor Huang Xiaoming. But Zhang hints that he is unable to get the actor to star in the role for Huang is now famous and hence, concentrating mostly on .

Nonetheless, Zhang added that he has a good impression on a couple of young actors and says that he will also be considering actors from and .

With regards to the female lead Zhao Min, Zhang Jizhong had earlier gave actress a set of the novels and invited her to star in the , promising her an important role. Ady has expressed a liking for Zhao Min though Zhang says he thinks she is more of a sweet and gentle beauty and not “tough” enough for a character like Zhao Min; instead, he thinks she’s more suitable as Xiao Zhao. Ideally, he wants a Zhao Min who is able to emit the strength and handsomeness like Brigitte Lin’s classic performance as Dong Fang Bu Bai in movie, “Swordsman II/III”.

As for his habit of guest-starring in his own , Zhang reveals that he will play the role of Prince Ruyang, Zhao Min’s father.

Though in Leng Lie’s heart there is a regret from a Valentines Day two years in the past, as singer/songwriter Guan Xiao Shu suddenly hit the big time. Xiao Shu and Leng Lie grew up together as close friends until one day, Valentine’s Day, Leng Lie decided to confess his feelings. Unfortunately, an unexpected accident took place that day. Feeling responsible, Leng Lie decided to take care of Xiao Shu’s future, but not wanting a love based on remorse, Xiao Shu rejected him.

One day Xiao Shu entered the “Fried Rice with Egg” diner. The simple and plain fried rice she ate there had an odd effect on her. She felt relaxed and carefree. Odder still, the cook who prepared the meal could only cook eggs and rice. Michelin was new and a rather bumbling chef. Though Michelin possesed a latent talent for cooking he only relied on the skills his father had passed on to him. With this, he had earned himself a reputation and an income in the vilage by producing 100 plates of fried rice with egg each day. Though, upon meeting Xiao Shi the many flavors of food and love opened up to him. Likewise, Michelin’s frank nature gives Xiao Shu the ability to cultivate an independent lifestyle. All About Women Synopsis and story :

Annoying, questionably watchable, breathlessly creative, and even somewhat fun. All About Women is overlong, overstuffed and all over-the-place, and yet it still manages some surprise and entertainment – that is, if you can stomach the strange ideas, pronounced overacting, and hyperactive bizareness. Your ultimate mixed bag, courtesy of the inimitable and unfathomable Tsui Hark.
